FRA (Full Retirement Age)

The age at which you can claim 100 percent of your earned Social Security retirement benefit. Ranges from 66 to 67 depending on your birth year.

Your Full Retirement Age depends on the year you were born:

You can claim benefits as early as age 62, but with a permanent reduction of up to 30 percent. You can delay until age 70 for delayed retirement credits worth 8 percent per year past FRA. The Social Security pay date itself (which Wednesday of the month) is based on your birth date, not your claim age.
