Your Full Retirement Age depends on the year you were born:
- 1943-1954: FRA is 66
- 1955: 66 and 2 months
- 1956: 66 and 4 months
- 1957: 66 and 6 months
- 1958: 66 and 8 months
- 1959: 66 and 10 months
- 1960 and later: 67
You can claim benefits as early as age 62, but with a permanent reduction of up to 30 percent. You can delay until age 70 for delayed retirement credits worth 8 percent per year past FRA. The Social Security pay date itself (which Wednesday of the month) is based on your birth date, not your claim age.
